Decide What Your Website will Be About
This is probably an obvious first step, but deciding what you want your website to be about is crucial. You need to have an idea or plan before you can move on to the next steps. This is commonly referred to as a Niche.
I always recommend that people follow their passion when it comes to building a website business. Do what you love and what you already have experience with.
For instance, my husband and I enjoy traveling and specifically camping. So when I was first deciding what niche I wanted my website to focus on, I naturally turned to camping and RVing.
I originally built a camping website (www.thetexascampinggirl.com) and began making money with it by promoting other brands/companies products. This is called Affiliate Marketing.

Where to Build Your Website - Hosting
It's very important that you choose the right platform to build your website on. I personally love WordPress and specifically the Elementor building tool.
But beyond just building your website, you need to think about hosting as well. There are many website hosting platforms to choose from, but not all of them offer a free website builder.
One of the best platforms in my opinion offers both free and paid website hosting.

4 Steps to Building a Website
Choose a Free Domain or a Purchased Domain
- The difference is that a free domain is not technically yours and can be shut down at anytime.
- Choosing to purchase a domain gives you an asset and a permanent online space that you OWN.
Choose a Domain Name
- This should correlate with what your website will be about.
- Try to think of domain names that are easy to spell and understand.
- Most domain names only cost about $12 – $14 per year.
Choose a Title for Your Website
- Most of the time people use the domain name for the title of their website.
- If your domain name has hyphens or doesn't make a lot of sense, you can choose a Title that conveys what your website is really about.
Choose a Design/Theme for your Website
- There are thousands of WordPress themes to choose from and many of them are FREE
- Choose one that best compliments the type of website you will have… ecommerce, blog style, etc.

Building a website is not difficult, however you do need a firm foundation in order to build a successful and profitable website. I agree with you that building a website in 30 seconds but it is only with the basic template. You need to work on the basic template and make it however you want.
